Emergency Telephone Number for Poisoning

Section 1.4 of each Safety Data Sheet must state an emergency telephone number that can be called to immediately obtain competent information on how to handle an emergency. We recommend that the number of a professional poison information centre be stated here because they can be reached at all times and provide the best possible qualifications. In many EU member states it is even mandatory to state the number of an official information centre in section 1.4 of the SDS. For this to work, however, the poison information centre must have a copy of the Safety Data Sheet, and this is generally only possible based on a contract concluded with this centre.
